JL - 25.3.19 66736 4M00 Carlisle - Clitheroe, Smardale

Alone at Smardale allows me to vary my usual 'go to' shot composition. This what I call the middle variation. Not making use of local features such as the line side hut or foreground wall does loose something but it's a better study of the subject itself. GBRf's 66736 'Wolverhampton Wanderers' continues it's long standing association with the Mossend - Clitheroe cement diagram. I was hoping for a loco change but in the conditions it would be a bit greedy to wish for too much. Sunny days have been at a premium in March 2019 but on a day that bucked that trend and provided wall to wall sunshine the reliable loco is seen climbing south through Smardale with the 4M00 empties. Unfortunately, early returns for this diagram seem to be a thing of the past. In previous years on the odd occasion it was possible to shoot the returning diagram in sun before the clocks went forward.
