JL - 14.8.21 43059 & 43058 09:40 Appleby - Skipton, Smardale

After dashing over to the WCML to catch the very late Caledonian Sleeper it was a leisurely run back across to Smardale for a peaceful wait for not one but two HSTs this Saturday morning. The first of these was the 09:40 Appleby - Skipton Staycation Express. The LSL pair 43059 & 43058 climb quietly through the pastoral scene. Unfortunately the sun didn't last for the Nanking blue fellow LSL stablemates which ran around 90 mins later working a Perth - York special. The return leg was to run via the ECML and Tyne Valley route later that afternoon.
