JL - 29.9.23 68022 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Smardale

Slim pickings on the S&C currently. Only two freights worked the length of the route today. The logs, now back in the hands of the usual Colas 70 and the regular DRS operated lunchtime Crewe - Carlisle engineers. At least K05 turned up a very interesting loco and consist. Looking almost like they belong together, 68022 'Resolution' in TPE livery thunders south through a windy Smardale with short rake of Balfour civils stock. As usual for a short formation, the diagram was making time during its run. 13 mins early through Carlisle became 24 early at Apppleby and 38 early by the time it reached Settle Junc.
