9.9.09 - 66526 4M11 Killoch - Fiddler's Ferry, Smardale

The second half of 2009 saw a new regular freight diagram introduced onto the S&C, this was 4M11 Killoch - Fiddler's Ferry loaded coal, operated by FHH. Until this point all coal services had headed down the Aire valley to power stations in Yorkshire and beyond but this working takes the Clitheroe line to rejoin the west coast south of Preston. My first shot of this new working had the popular 66526 at the helm and it is seen passing Smardale on a peaceful Summer morning.
