JL - 6.5.23 47593 & 47805 1Z34 Cardiff - Carlisle, Smardale Viaduct

Really pleased with this outcome. A stormy S&C stunner.
There was only one working of any real interest over the Long Drag this Royal Coronation Saturday and that was Statesman Rail's 'S&C and Coastal Statesman'. Working from Cardiff to Carlisle, outward via the S&C returning via the coast. LSL's traction was employed and with personal favourite's ScotRail 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' and BR large logo 47593 'Galloway Princess' allocated I had to be lineside. However, 47712 was swapped en-route with 47805 (at Crewe) so it made the choice of which loco to target very clear for me. I always prefer seeing the retro liveries from my era. Seen in warm Spring sunshine under threatening stormy skies 47593 brings up the rear of the attractive tour at Smardale Viaduct.
