JL - 11.8.23 66737 6C00 Clitheroe - Carlisle NY, Smardale - Smardale viaduct
The graceful Smardale viaduct, highest on the S&C, soars a full 131 feet above Smardale Beck and just in time, is lit up by golden evening light, as the loaded cement diagram crosses. GBRf's 66737 'Lesia' rolls downgrade with 6C00 Clitheroe - Carlisle NY taking a well earned breather after the long climb through Ribblesdale to Blea Moor. The story behind the name is that this loco was named after GBRF MD John Smith's wife who always claims to be 37 years old. The running joke is apparently also the reason the final two numbers are enlarged versus the others.
