As per forecast the morning clouds drifted away to the south east bathing the Upper Eden valley in stunning Autumnal light. As luck would have it the gypsum diagram was working in its later path which put it through Kirkby around 1:30 meaning the light would be at a perfect angle at Ais Gill. Unnamed and seemingly unloved DBS Tug 60054 lifts the empty boxes of 6E97 Kirkby Thore - Tees Dock towards the summit at MP 260. A classic BR design at a classic S&C location.
