One of the oddest S&C workings for a long time was this LSL route learner today using ex East Midlands Trains HST power cars 43058 and 43059. It's understood the plan is for LSL at Crewe to utilize HSTs for the Staycation shuttles this Summer following the initial season for these specials in 2020. Although exactly what we'll get and in what livery remains to be seen. The pair which will be far more used to the less impressive Sharnbrook summit than Ais Gill make for a very unusual sight as they cruise through the wild Pennine surroundings of the S&C and Ais Gill.
