5.3.12 - 66121 6M13 Kirkby Thore - Warrington Arpley, Ais Gill MP 260 - Ais Gill - Milepost 260
A special train path (STP) was required today for the lunchtime gypsum empties which were working south to Warrington Arpley sidings from Kirkby Thore having worked in from Drax earlier in the day. I was experimenting with a new lens and slightly different angles at Ais Gill MP 260 and am pretty happy with the result. I'd say I've now got 4 excellent but different options at this spot. 6M13 is seen behind 66121 with a few yards to go before the summit is reached as clouds approach from the north.

Photo comment By Neil Harvey: Hi John, I attempted to leave a comment on this picture a couple of days ago, but I embedded a link to my site and then got a message saying links weren't allowed, so I don't know if it got through or not. So I thought I'd try again. Did you know that we were very close to each other when you took this? I was at the "standard" shot at Ais Gill and was blissfully unware that you were behind me. I wish I'd known because it would have been nice to meet you. I arrived about half an hour before this turned up and there was no-one in the "triangular" field when I drove past, so I presume you arrived later. Still not to worry, I presume our paths will cross at some point. Are you meeting up with Mr Hooson some time in the next couple of weeks? The weather forecast looks quite promising for later next week so I could well find myself up there to rendezvous with the "great man". Look forward to meeting you at some point. Great picture by the way. Best Regards Neil H
