1.12.12 - 66520 6E73 Hunterson - Drax, Ais Gill MP 260

It was very cold up at Ais Gill today. A freezing northerly wind was full in our faces as we waited for the expected late morning southbound coal. Passing Kirkby around 11.50am it arrived at the summit around 20mins later in stunning Winter light. Cloud was spilling in over Wild Boar Fell and Mallerstang Edge was also under thick cloud however there was a wedge of blue sky directly overhead and we had constant sun whilst we waited. Eventually, FHH workhorse and S&C regular 66520 crawled noisily south with 6E73 Hunterson - Drax. This shot alone was worth the effort of heading out today. Thanks as always to those lads who provided me with gen today, you know who you are!
