24.3.14 - 57007 & 57012 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Greengates

Despite the pleasing result, this was actually a bit of a cock-up. I had originally planned to take 6K05 at Birkett Common today but shortly after it rounded the curve near Kirkby and came into my view 57007 & 57012 inexplicably stopped on the straight near Bull Gill for around 10-15 minutes. Waiting impatiently on the hillside at Birkett, I moved in order to get a shot where it had stopped as I assumed, given how unusual this occurance was, that it had failed and would require assistance. However, as soon as I had moved it got back underway and I had to quickly ditch the car at Greengates and settle for a grab shot. Having done the same train at the same location last Friday I went for something different to give at least some variety.
