21.3.14 - 57007 & 57012 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Greengates

A very pleasing result. Under threatening skies and framed by typically Cumbrian limestone features the DRS pairing of 57007 & 57012 climb south through Greengates with 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe engineers. The pairing of 2 x 57s has been a regular occurance on this diagram for the past fortnight, although unlike last week sunshine has been very much at a premium. This spell of sun was very fortunate and I was lucky to bag this shot whilst on the way back from work. Given the almost total domination of 66s on S&C freight traffic since around 2006 it's great to finally get some variety of traction. Long may it continue.
