It's just after 8pm and in stonking evening Summer light 37402 'Stephen Middlemore' raises the echoes as she noisily departs this attractive village on the north eastern edge of the Duddon estuary with 2C42 17.37 Carlisle - Barrow. Talking to a local chap out for a walk he was complaining about the noise pollution created by these "Deltics"!. I had planned to take this working near Parton but the skies seemed much clearer further south.
