17.12.10 37259 & 47790 & 57004 12.30 Maryport - Workington, Flimby

My first days holiday of the 2010 Christmas break and I decided to head west for my first and only trip over to see the Workington shuttles. Floods had destroyed the main road bridge between the towns of Workington and Whitehaven and to avoid ensuing traffic problems free shuttle trains were operated for local travelers, hauled by DRS locomotives. Lucky my first visit coincided with a failure to 47790 which meant 37259 was drafted in from Sellafield to help. The timetable was obviously disrupted, but with what was understood to be the 12.30pm departure from Maryport the EE type 3 approaches Workington North with 47790 tucked in behind and 57004 at the rear.
