JL 1.2.15 66544 6E69 Carlisle - Stourton, Greengates

The second of two southbound Sunday coal workings today passed Kirkby at 15.19 and at that time the sun was at a nice angle at Greengates, beautifully illuminating the scene. With the distant snow covered Pennines forming a perfect backdrop my lucky sun and snow engine 66544 plodded past with 6E69 Carlisle - Stourton FHH loaded coal working. This loco was the subject for my favourite and most successful photograph (in terms of publication frequency) taken in deep snow at Ais Gill MP in Jan 2010. It's a shame we very rarely get conditions like this but when we do getting out to the lineside is a must!
