Was it Oscar Wilde who said 'rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated'? Well it's true in my case. A nudge from JH earlier in the week awakened my interest in the railway scene. A combination of work, other interests and the sad loss of my line side mate Patch has meant I've not found the enthusiasm to get out much in recent weeks and months. I was back with a bang today though visiting WCML, Cumbrian Coast and S&C in one day.
If things are on time it's not possible to get the 4M25 90s south of Eden Valley loop and the coastal diagram on the same day, so having seen the 90s earlier at Yanwath I set off for older traction in the form of one of DRS's large logo EE 37s. Here, 37402 makes a fine sight in bright conditions as she pounds away from the Grange stop with 2C47 10.04 Preston - Barrow service. After this it was into Grange to observe the 2 minutes silence at the war memorial in the park then across to the S&C for the Arcow stone.
