9.4.12 - Ex-NCB 0-6-0 Tank No.40, 11.45 Bishop - Stanhope, Witton: WR - Preservation
My final day of the 2012 Easter hols and I'd taken the lads over to the National Railway Museum at Shildon. Followed by our first visit to the Weardale Railway, where were hoping to see the Colas coal train but I had made a mistake with the departure time from Wolsingham and it had long gone by the time we arrived. We did however get this pleasing shot of ex-NCB 0-6-0 tank No. 40 working the 11.45 West Bishop - Stanhope service which is seen making steady progress under threatening skies on the approach to Witton.
