21.10.12 - LNER A4S Nos. 60010 & 60008, NRM Shildon

As a rule I'm not usually a fan of taking shots of locos on static display, however the recent repatriation of Brusnwick Green LNER A4s Nos. 60008 Dwight D Eisenhower and 60010 Dominion of Canada to the UK and their display at the NRM Shildon is an opportunity too good to miss. I headed over the hills this afternoon and arrivevd to find Shildon as busy as I've ever seen it. Following a recent photographic charter where the three consecutively numbered A4s were lined up in the yard, sister engine 60009 Union of South Africa was also on site, in steam and giving brake van rides along the siding. Basking in unseasonal warm weather the stunning former east coast racers stand silent not too far away from their main-line stamping ground in front of the thrilled crowds.
