17.10.13 - 66430 & 66424 3J11 Carlisle - Carlisle RHTT, Gallansay

Another go at the S&C RHTT working this evening and I thought I'd expand my horizons and go for a location which I've never tried before for these workings. There aren't too many spots where the sun is available given its low position in the skies but I can now confirm that this is one of them. As long as the diagram is on time! I'm not sure that it's better than Town End Farm for the RHTT shot but I think it's certainly my 2nd favourite viewpoint for these workings. In superb evening light 66430 & 66424 speed through Gallansay with 3J11 Carlisle - Carlisle via most of the north west. This is one of the very few times I've used my fixed standard lens. I opted for this lens on this occasion so that I could use a wide aperture and really ramp up the speed to freeze the train in the fading light.
