16.10.10 - GWR Castle 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, Newbiggin - Newbiggin
October 16th 2010 was a day many GWR enthusiasts will remember, Tyseley's double chimney Castle 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' conquered the Settle-Carlisle hauling the 'Pride of Swindon' tour from Tyesley to Carlisle via Preston and Hellifield and back. The day was not blessed with good weather and it took a good number of last minute location changes for me to capture this shot in sun. The returning working is seen climbing through Newbiggin behind the attractive Castle class loco.
