1.4.13 - 37607 & 37409 Dumbarton - Exeter St Davids, Appleby

Pathfinder's 4 day 'Easter Highlander' railtour around Western Scotland was routed via the S&C today on it's return journey back to the south of England. It stopped for a break at Appleby for an hour in order to give passengers a leg stretch and a chance to grab a shot from the old cattle dock or a pint from The Midland pub next to the station. During this time the sun was out for a very brief spell and I was able to get this record shot. DRS pair 37607 & 37409 wait patiently under cold and clear Spring skies with the long haul Dumbarton - Exeter St Davids leg of the excursion. Despite the blue skies further north I wasn't to get any luck with my attempted shot at Greengates where a band of cloud just didn't clear in time.
