JL - 5.2.25 68003 6C14 Drigg BNF - Shap Summit quarry, Shap Wells

After so many local freight workings had finished in 2024 it’s great to see a new freight diagram appearing in the timetable in early 2025. It’s understood that stone will be taken from Shap quarry to Drigg BNF site for around eight weeks. There are two workings per day employing DRS class 68 and brand-new JNA box wagons. The lunchtime arrival Shap quarry 6C14 is seen descending from Shap before its run round move at Tebay behind 68003 ‘Astute’. This shot was published in Rail Express April 2025 edition.
