JL - 31.5.23 66727 4N00 Carlisle - Clitheroe, Long Marton

Today was one of those rare days when I got the southbound and the northbound cement diagram on the same day. It's rare that the weather holds for the full day in Cumbria but we've been enjoying an incredible spell of sunshine in late May. The working traverses Ais Gill at the start and the end of the day which makes it a very obvious target in Summer, especially so when there's a GBRf celebrity shed allocated. I've done well with 66727 'Maritime One' in recent weeks and today was no different. For 4N00 Carlisle - Clitheroe I headed north of Appleby where there was less cloud and settled on this view just south of Long Marton. 66727 threads the lineside hawthorn blossom with the Castle Cement tanks trailing leisurely behind.
