JL - 27.8.21 66724 6S00 Clitheroe - Carlisle, Bull Gill

Finally, after 16 years of trying I have a late evening shot at Bull Gill that I'm happy with. Many previous attempts have been thwarted by one factor or another, either late trains, fast dropping sun or cloud cover have usually meant I've left this spot disappointed. However, this evening cold but clearing skies and an obligingly early running 6S00 meant everything came together. Persistence finally pays off. 66724 drops down towards Kirkby Stephen at Bull Gill with the loaded Clitheroe - Carlisle Yard cement tanks following obediently behind. I held on here for the late service trains and the Staycation ECS working which arrived seconds before the sun dropped.
