With the return leg of LSL / Rail Charter Services VIP and Press Staycation special 43059 leads the formation south at Greengates during a hot Summer afternoon. Ex-East Midlands sister loco 43058 brings up the rear. Recently outshopped from Eastleigh this run comes 4 days ahead of the timetabled services starting next Monday 19/7. It seems a shame that enthusiasts won't be treated to the heritage loco-hauled services this year and an even greater miss that LSL didn't choose a historically authentic livery for this set. The upside for local landowners is that this probably will mean we don't see a repeat of scenes from 2020 where little respect was shown to walls, fences and livestock by visiting photters.
