JL 1.2.15 66509 6E68 Carlisle - Stourton, MP260

Not one but two southbound coal workings this Sunday which was very fortunate given the fantastic Arctic conditions. The frozen surroundings of MP260 do little to put 66509 off its stride as she lifts 6E68 Carlisle - Stourton working up the last few yards to Ais Gill summit. At this time of year when snow is lying this is really one of my favorite locations. On a slightly sour note you can tell there's been two recent steam workings by the amount of damage to walls and temporary barriers in this area. No wonder photographers have a bad name with local landowners. The 'weekend warriors' that descend for steam specials should look after the place a bit more, it's a working environment after all.
