9.9.12 - LMS 5MT 45305 1Z73 Carlisle - York 'Waverley', Greengates

The final 'Waverley' of the summer was worked by LMS 'Black 5' No. 45305 rather than the expected A4. The day had started warm and bright but by the time the return leg worked south we had full cloud cover in the Eden Valley. Despite this an attractive image was possible at Greengates as the 5MT works the grade producing an attractive exhaust effect with 1Z73 Carlisle - York.
