During a 2007 Summer spell of engineering possessions which closed the line for several weeks 60030 is seen standing at the head of a engineering cavalcade which stretched from Kirkby Stephen to Smardale and consisted of 7 members of this class. Once required this section of the cavalcade would work as 6L12 Appleby - Carlisle. A 'ZWA' tamper machine was stabled alongside in the ex-cattle dock siding.
