29.5.12 - 66111 6K05 Carlisle - Crewe, Ais Gill

I dashed out during lunch today for a shot of K05 because there was a 60 in the region and this could've been a working it took back south, alas it wasn't to be, the tug went to Shap and I got a 66 on the lunchtime engineers. I had taken a first shot at Stockber but when I saw the substantial load and how slowly it was moving I decided to get up to Ais Gill for a better shot. It's rare to see a modern train struggle so much with the long drag, clearly hauling 25 semi-loaded auto-ballasters up 1-100 is too much for the ageing GM machine. Highland Stag stickered 66111 crawls towards the summit under the hot summer sun.
