JL - 11.2.21 66433 & 66427 7Z98 Hellifield - Carlisle Yard

I was pleased to get a shot of the plough movement today. My first shot of ploughs on the S&C if you can believe it. A VST path from Carlisle Yard - Hellifield (and return) went in to the timetable at very short notice this morning. I assumed it was probably the ploughs but without too much recent snow but many days of sub zero temperatures they were probably on ice breaking duties for the tunnels. Ice formations inside Blea Moor tunnel are the stuff of S&C legend, even in recent years. In once in a decade conditions, DRS pair 66433 & 66427 pass Ais Gill with 7Z98 Hellifield - Carlisle northbound working. This shot was published in The Railway Magazine March 2021 edition.
