17.4.10 - 47804 (rear) 1Z70 Stevenage - Carlisle tour, Long Preston

One of the other railtours to work through the area on Sat 17th April 2010 was The Railway Touring Company's 'The Hadrian' from Stevenage to Carlisle and return. Steam went on at Hellifield for a run over the S&C to Carlisle, the tour returned via the Tyen Valley route and the ECML (with steam as far as York). As usual there was a West Coast diesel loco attached at the rear and on this occasion 47804 did the honours. The tour is seen heading north near Long Preston about to do battle with the Long Drag.
