JL - 20.6.16 60091 Ribblehead VQ - Hunslet East Hanson, Long Preston

In ordinary circumstances this shot would get nowhere near my site. However, as we know, these aren't ordinary circumstances. I'm grateful for any S&C freight shot in 2016 and this was a very interesting late addition to the S&C timetable. Over the weekend an STP job (6M53 00.49 Arpley - Ribblehead virtual quarry) appeared in RTT. 60091 'Barry Needham' was allocated and the new MMAs wagons were indicated as being used. This would present the unusual prospect of a full DBS liveried formation on a very irregular S&C freight. The return loaded diagram which operated to Hanson at Hunslet East is seen between Long Preston and Hellifield in dull conditions. I did chase to the other side of Hellifield but alas it wasn't held at the station and the breaks in the cloud had yet to appear. None the less a 'for the record' shot was in the bag.
