JL - 20.3.25 66190 6H79 Immingham Biomass - Drax, Immingham 11

A long drive back north today offered a chance to stop a few new locations and with the best of the weather expected in the east I decided to visit Whittlesea, Westwoodside and Immingham Biomass terminal on the route home. After Whittlesea, and a second stop at Westwoodside, I headed to a location that for my money is one of the most impressive spots on the UK network. I've had few successful visits previously but felt there was room for improvement. I knew that if I planned well, stayed patient and of course had that extra bit of luck with the uncontrollables such as loco allox, weather and atmosphere clarity etc the I'd be in for some epic results. As luck would have there were 2 late afternoon departures both hauled by minor DBS celebs. The earlier 6H77 was worked by named 66077 and then an hour later 6H79 was worked by a beautifully turned out 66190 'Martin House'. Seen at various points along the loaded sidings the DBS machine radiates back the low Spring sunshine on an increasingly cold and windy March evening. Such an enjoyable way to close a fantastic days photting.
