Threading a frozen Lune Gorge on what was to remain a bright and sunny day for only around 1 hour more, 66423 ambles south at a leisurely pace with 6K06 Shap Summit Quarry - Crewe Basford Hall loaded boxes, readying itself for a quick pause in Grayrigg loop. This diagram continues to throw up attractive loco and wagonload combinations so I do try to prioritise it if possible. Especially because WCML freight is at a real low point during the day, this was one of only 2 daylight freights on this section today.
