The shot that almost wasn't! I had no idea whatsoever that Colas had hired in GBRf Sheds for their Mountsorrel to Carlisle Yard flow. As the weather continually improved towards the evening I assumed I was turning out half-heartedly for the usual Colas 70. Once I was informed that a celeb loco was due my commitment was raised a little but then the saga began...reporting at Hellifield (16:47) and then Settle Jnc (16:55)around 15 mins early there was then no report of 66711 until it passed Blea Moor at 18:39 50 minutes late. With the service train held at Hellifield station I assumed it had failed and threw the towel in. As I headed for the pub I gave RTT one last check and luckily saw it was on the move. I dashed back to the lineside and a stunning evening Springtime shot was in the bag. So glad I checked twice. This shot could just be what I need to rekindle my enthusiasm.
