JL - 5.10.24 47709 1Z47 Crewe - Glasgow Queen St, Docker Viaduct

There were two northbound railtours this morning of sufficient interest to tempt me over to the WCML for the 2nd Saturday in succession. Last week we had WCRC's pair of Cromptons in lovely light and this Sat promised the same bright conditions for LSL's ScotRail 47/7 with a full ScotRail push-pull rake followed by the ever-popular 86259 with a WCRC excursion. Points problems at Carnforth had delayed WCML services in both directions and this was highly fortunate for the gathered gallery because had it been on time it would've been full dull. Storming north and gaining back time as it does, 47712 masquerading as the long lost 47709 'The Lord Provost' looks fantastic in Autumnal sunshine at Docker. For such a fine sight I was greedy and went for a drone shot west of the viaduct and a more familiar composition from the lineside.
