4.3.06 - 57314 & 390038 Ais Gill Viaduct

Ais Gill viaduct is possibly the most popular S&C location. It's certainly one of my favourites and the view back down Mallerstang is a sight to behold. On the last Saturday of WCML diversions during 2006 and just before a 4 week engineering possesion, Virgin 'Thunderbird' 57314 & Pendo 390038 cross Ais Gill viaduct in incredible conditions. At this location I would usually align the far right of my shot with the end of the viaduct wall on the far side of the line. However this time I adjusted slightly and fired when the loco was just obscuring the road in the background.
