5.4.12 - 70006 6M32 Killoch - Ratcliffe, Ais Gill viaduct

Beauty and the beast. It's good to see the class 70s have settled back into a semi-regular pattern of S&C operation recently. The late afternoon 6M32 Killoch - Ratcliffe FHH coal working was the first diagram the class started to appear on shortly after their arrival in the UK, and it's the same working they seem to allocated to at the moment. That's useful information for the S&C photographer because you'll know which diagrams to make sure you see, or definatley avoid depending on your view of the engine's asthetic qualities. For me, it means I'll always try to choose a more side on location because they certainly look better from that angle. With the remnants of yesterday's heavy snow fall melting away 70006 climbs over Ais Gill viaduct with the regular laoded coal working. This shot was published in the 'Line by Line - Settle & Carlisle' book by Martin Buck.
