JL - 29.5.23 37401 6Z61 Carlisle Kingmoor - Doncaster Rob Rd, Wetheral

A very rare move flagged up on the gen this Bank Holiday Monday morning with DRS favourite 37401 'Mary Queen of Scots' allocated to a Carlisle Kingmoor - Doncaster Roberts Road flask working. The planned midday time through Carlisle meant a very overhead sun, therefore the choice of location would be important as I didn't want an overly green scene. I headed for Wetheral with the intent to 'set' the short working against the viaduct and River Eden. Not a shot I've tried before but it turned out to be a pleasing result. In the stunning setting, just east of Carlisle, the large logo 37 thunders towards Corby Gates crossing with 6Z61.
