JL - 26.11.24 37175 37116 3J51 York Thrall - York Thrall, Low Hutton

With the forecast far better in the east, I had several options today and for a total change I swerved my usual Teesside and Blyth & Tyne favourites, and instead decided to make my first photting visit to the Yorkshire Wolds & Coastal route to chase the Colas worked 3J51 RHTT diagram all day. I'd travelled the route before and of course have seen many excellent shots from other photographers so was well aware of the potential but having no local knowledge or experience to fall back on I just followed my nose and planned stops as I went. No Traksy and infrequent RTT updates made it slightly more difficult but in the end I was happy with the results of my first trip. First stop was Low Hutton where I made an uncharacteristic mistake with my angles. 37175 leads and is captured cruising around the sweeping curve which tracks the course of the River Derwent on the York to Scarborough section.
