JL - 26.11.24 37116 37175 3J51 York Thrall - York Thrall, Buckton

With the forecast far better in the east, I had several options today and for a total change I swerved my usual Teesside and Blyth & Tyne favourites, and instead decided to make my first photting visit to the Yorkshire Wolds & Coastal route to chase the Colas worked 3J51 RHTT diagram all day. I'd travelled the route before and of course have seen many excellent shots from other photographers so was well aware of the potential but having no local knowledge or experience to fall back on I just followed my nose and planned stops as I went. No Traksy and infrequent RTT updates made it slightly more difficult but in the end I was happy with the results of my first trip. After shots at Low Hutton and Filey, Buckton was next and this time I went for the type of location which typifies much of this stretch. Fairly featureless but attractive never-the-less countryside with wide open views. Ex-SF, TI and ML Tractor 37116 now leads which as the cleaner of the pair was handy for me.
