In classic S&C weather, strong winds and driving rain, a very interesting diagram worked the Long Drag on Friday 23.3.18. A Locomotive Services excursion from Crewe to Kingussie was hauled by the attractive combination of two two-tone green 47s. D1944 'The Craftsman' and D1835 are seen having just crested the summit at Ais Gill. Unbelievably it was full sun in Carlisle for their arrival.
