21.3.06 66136 engineers, Ais Gill road bridge

It's 10.30pm and it's blowing a freezing gale across Ais Gill moor. It's the 3rd week of a 4 week engineering possesion of the S&C and 66136 stands at the head of an engineers ballast working on the down line waiting for clearance to move and drop it's load. The up line has been lifted and the trackbed is well illuminated under the powerful lights. This shot was published in Rail Express in 2006 to advertise a photography competition.
