JL - 21.9.22 86101 Stranraer - Crewe, Carlisle

Seen at Carlisle's platform 1 having just backed onto the 'Ayrliner' rail tour LSL's 86101 'Sir William A Stanier FRS' looks right at home back on WCML metals. The Intercity loco had just taken over from 2 x 20s on the Stranraer to Crewe return leg and the tour, which I was on, stayed bang on time most of the day. Unfortunately I had to change here for the last Pendo southbound service to Penrith but I had enjoyed an excellent ride north behind 86101 from Warrington to Carlisle in the morning.
