JL - 1.9.20 47712 08:35 Skipton - Appleby, Garsdale Troughs 2

Having been away on holidays at the point ScotRail liveried 47712 was allocated to the S&C staycation shuttles I wanted to ensure I had a least one shot for the record of this attractive livery which I remember so clearly from my spotting days. There are several options along the stretch from Rise Hill Tunnel to Garsdale station but this one allows for a good study of the loco details and finer points of the livery, such as the Haymarket depot badeg above the name. It's all so evocative. Seen shortly after passing the site of Garsdale Troughs 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' hammers along looking fantastic with 08:35 Skipton - Appleby, the first northbound service of what was for the most part a beautiful day. After this I was done by some cloud at Blea Moor Tunnel for my third attempted shot this morning. But hey, 2/3 isn't a bad return!
