11.3.14 - 31465 Carlisle - Neville Hill, Garsdale Troughs

What a bonus this was, my first 31/4 shot on the S&C! I had seen on the RTT site that there was an unusual STP job in the S&C timetable this morning. However I mistakenly assumed that it would be a faulty Northern Trains unit returning to the Leeds depot for attention. On that assumption I expected the diagram to pass me as I walked into Garsdale to set up for the early morning northbound freights. However, it was held at Garsdale until 6E77 was out of section. The sound of the 31 powering away from Garsdale was quite a shock and I really didn't know what was going to appear. Not only was it the NR formation but the 31 was propelling so I could get a lovely going away shot.
