25.7.12 - LMS 8F No.48151 1Z53 Carlisle - Lancaster Fellsman, Ormside

Whilst the rest of the UK bakes in soaring temperatures Cumbria, typically, suffers low cloud, mist and rain. It was because of these conditions that I chose another variation on the Ormside silhouette for this afternoon's southbound Fellsman tour from Carlisle to Lancaster. This is the first time I've returned to do this shot for steam since the Christmas Fellsman in late December 2010 (see Ormside collection), and this time I opted for the double gate rather than the lane and wall as my foreground. Running bang on time after a very brief water stop at Appleby the unmistakable outline of a Stanier 8F No.48151 climbs south through the Eden valley.
