JL - 15.4.21 66779 6M25 Doncaster - Arcow, Arcow Quarry

Fortunately I woke up at 5.30am this morning and checking RTT I saw that GBRf celebrity 66779 'Evening Star' was allocated to the early arrival at Arcow. With a day off work and with the kids on half term, everyone was turfed out of bed and into the car for a day out photting with a promise / bribe of a McDonalds breakfast. I've never bagged a shot of this unique Brunswick green loco previously so this became my primary target for the day. The sun was not high enough to illuminate the inbound working at Helwith Bridge but shots of the shunting movements at the quarry were beautifully lit in clear golden morning light. As the rising sun melted the hard overnight frost 66779 shunts 6M25 Doncaster - Arcow. A wondeful way to start a day's S&C photting.
