JL - 12.5.16 66708 6M69 Hunslet - Arcow, Arcow Quarry

Having split 6M69 Hunslet - Arcow into 3 shorter sections and shunted these into the sidings at the quarry, loading for the return trip is just about to commence. 66708 'Jayne' sets back into the 3rd siding. An attractive view of the scene on a what was a very cold Spring morning. This working is a welcome star in otherwise very dark times for S&C freight. If it wasn't for this diagram (which ran 4 out of 5 days this week) the only loco hauled trains on the route this week would've been the NR measurement HST which ran to Kirkby Thore and back on Friday and the WCRC excursion to / from Hereford to Appleby which ran Sunday. This shot was published by The Railway Magazine in one of their Summer editions and would be just one of only two S&C shots of mine published in 2016....some dry spell!
