JL - 6.1.24 47593 1Z56 Hereford - Appleby, Ribblehead Viaduct

One of my favourite locos was out on the S&C today working 'The Statesman' excursion from Hereford to Appleby and return. BR large logo livery was everywhere in my spotting days but the CD based examples rarely looked this good. In stunning Winter light LSL's beautiful 47593 'Galloway Princess' complete with ED scotty and ploughs crosses Ribblehead viaduct on the outard leg. Familiar S&C weather today where the conditions either side of the mountain section were totally opposite. Complete cloud cover and pockets of fog in the Eden Valley but clear blue skies south of the Howgills, exactly as forecast for once.
